About

Hello! I am Lisa, a Mandarin Chinese instructor based in Southern California.

I take a dynamic and interactive approach to teaching Mandarin Chinese to adult professionals. My classes are highly interactive and customized for each individual student’s learning style and goals. 

I have taught at such institutes and universities as the Orange County Lingual Institute in Costa Mesa, California and in the California State University International Programs at National Taiwan Chengchi University in Taiwan.

My love of languages has taken many forms: I’ve traveled to France and Italy for immersive language programs; I’ve studied shamisen, a traditional Japanese instrument, under a teacher that spoke only Japanese; I taught myself in conversational Spanish in order to communicate more easily with clients in a corporate setting. 

I’ve found that my enthusiasm for learning other languages and cultures greatly informs my unique and varied approach to teaching Chinese.
